    This is a huge computer because of the screen but isn't as heavy as we thought it would be. We bought it for my aging parent who is returning to school and starting a small business. This is one of the best refurb items I've ever purchased and has very little cosmetic defects. I wouldn't have guessed it was refurbished if it wasn't in the description. It did take 3 days of updates because it had been off for a while but no issues since updates finalized and we added malware protection, antivirus, etc.

    The most appealing aspect of this laptop is the backlit keyboard, which is useful not only in very dim rooms, but also marginally dim or in shadow. However, I at first thought the laptop defective, as the keyboard did not light up when I powered up the laptop. It was only by accident that I discovered the ON/OFF key. This brings me to this point, which is unfortunately quite common today: the absence of a comprehensive owner's manual. Manufacturers have subscribed to the "IKEA School of Manuals" to wit: just throw out a few pictures labeled in #4 font size and let them figure it out. Of course, some comprehensive manuals ARE available online, but that just adds another layer of effort to understanding your new purchase. Yeesh!
